Fun Fact For Sunday.... POTASSIUM

Potassium keeps your metabolism revved and muscles strong. Which of these foods offers the most?

(A) ONE MEDIUM BAKED SWEET POTATO

(B) ONE CUP OF FAT FREE YOGURT

(C) ONE MEDIUM BANANA

WRONG- Answer is (A). Surprising but true. A baked sweet potato actually has more potassium than a banana. The spud contains 542 mg; the yogurt  has 475mg and the banana has 422mg. Potassium is essential for muscle contractions, so you should get the right amount from your diet, not from supplements. Try to include some of these other potassium rich foods to help you reach the recommended 4700 mg per day. These foods include tomato sauce, orange juice (low sugar of course), and cantaloupe.
